World begins to recognizes the power of the prayers

Jammu, September 08: Once upon a time India used to be the spiritual guru of the world when scholars from around the globe would vie to join the world renowned universities of India to get higher education which was considered the best in the world.

The world guru however saw steep decline in its credibility not due to any fault in Indian education system but due to the successive rulers who were more inclined towards power than enhancing the rich cultural heritage and the vast knowledge that India possessed.

To a great extent the continuous foreign invasions and their penchant for destroying everything that signified knowledge served a death blow to the position that this great country once enjoyed.

The Vedic knowledge and the power of prayers, hymns, yoga and Ayurveda is still to be surpassed by any scientific knowledge discovered till date.

However while the world is again beginning to acknowledge the spiritual superiority of India the natives are not only shunning it but also getting attracted towards to fake western culture that itself is turning towards India for guidance.

Take for example the Yoga which recently got recognition the world over by dedicating a day to celebrate the power of yoga.

Similarly Sanskrit is being taught in many universities in Japan, China, America and other parts of the world considering it one of the most scientific languages in the world while the power of hymns and potential of Ayurveda is also being explored at a huge scale around the globe.

Recently the world has started looking towards India for its health issues and for this not only Ayurveda but also the power of hymns and prayers is being adopted by the western world to solve their health related problems.

It has been a tradition and culture in India to offer prayers do yoga and chant Mantars to sooth our nerves and heal various ailments which our new generation shuns under the influence of western culture.

However the scientific researchers are showing that the ancient way of Indian system of medicines and alternate therapy is based on pure science and actually serves the purpose for which it is dedicated.

In an article published in Central Queensland author KayJStroud explains how Australian women are turning to power of prayers to heal themselves and consider it as most effective.

Stroud writes, “An Australian study published in the British Medical Journal this June found that a significant proportion of Australian women are using prayer or spiritual healing as part of their healthcare management.

Admittedly, the latest high-tech measuring instrumentation available may not be able to pin-point how and when prayer brings about a change, mentally or physically. But the fact is many find that it often does lead to healing”.

She writes about the connection between consciousness, spirituality and health.

Although still not generally evidenced in doctor’s offices or in hospitals, there is growing respect for prayer or spiritual healing practices in the medical community due to the findings from research. The BMJ study mentioned earlier reported “that prayer or spiritual healing are significantly associated with health, management of chronic illnesses and positive health seeking behaviours.”

This indicates that while people in other parts of the world are turning towards their spiritual and religious life style to remain healthy we as Indians must also respect our own rich ancient cultural and spiritual heritage and look inwards rather than westwards for our health and other issues which has the potential to make this country the world guru once again.

The futuristic knowledge of Indian saints can be gauged from the fact that thousands of years earlier we used to believe in world as global village concept which the modern day world has realized now as Indians believed in “Vasudev Kutumbkam’-The world is my family- when the rest of the world was yet to conceive such an idea.
