It Is Opportune Time To Resolve Indo-Pak Skirmishes!

Jammu, January 06: The Pathankot attack has once again brought the Indo-Pak trust deficit into focus with the opposition as well as the supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticizing him for giving undue rope to Pakistan through his surprise visit resulting in usual backstabbing by Pakistan.

While Modi is facing flak for his closeness with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief alleging him of sellout and ignoring the national interest the fact is that there was no opportune time like this to resolve Indo-Pak skirmishes despite Pakistan’s usual backstabbing.

Another fact that the critics are forgetting is that it was same group that had criticized the Prime Minister Modi for not engaging with Pakistan when India had snapped the talks after Gurdaspur attack and everybody had called him whimsical with the opposition going to the extent of calling him immature.

But ironically the recent surprise visit of Modi to Pakistan was also criticized by the same group instead of appreciating the move to initiate dialogue process.

However what we want to discuss here is that one must go with a positive mind and it was perhaps that positivity in mind that Modi decided to visit Pakistan to give the renewed peace process a new look and dimension.

However as it turns out the different power circles within Pakistan never allow the political government to go for any serious peace process with India as it proves a major hurdle in their business of terrorism.

But another fact that we must keep in mind is that growing international pressure on the terror states is a situation that India must use as an opportunity to isolate the inimical forces within India and inside Pakistan to strengthen the elements that want peace with India.

Indian being a strategic partner in war against terror can not only play a major role in curbing international terror but also use the opportunity to resolve the age-old skirmishes with Pakistan for ever as the world was now openly against terror and Pakistan cannot afford to continue its anti-India policies through terrorism anymore.

It is better to leave the past aside and work for a better and positive future with elected government of Pakistan and assure it of all possible help so that democratic forces get strengthened in the country which will result in better ties with the neighboring nations.

Since China and Afghanistan are also within the vicinity of Pakistan Indian role in ensuring strengthened democratic intuitions would be more appreciated by the people of the country who have geographical, cultural and religious affinity with India and identify more with India than China.

Hence it is imperative that we support our Prime Minister and let him prepare a ground for better ties as even snapping the ties have also not proved beneficial because it is not the political government that backstabs India but the different power circles within Pakistan running he terror industry who backstab India to put blame on the government and derail the peace process.
