Jammu, February 01: Denigrating Hindu Gods and Hinduism has become a norm these days to gain cheap publicity even if that means hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus all over the world.
To top it all Hindus who have been tolerating this nonsense for long are being labeled as intolerants by the same brigade as they know abusing Hindus would not only get immediate publicity but also label them as true seculars in India.
Whether it is MF Hussein painting nude pictures of our Goddesses or film makers making fun of our religion the point is do whatever to Hindu Gods and get away with accolades and publicity and if anybody raises a finger just paint him as communalist and occupy the chairs at the TV studious.
The likes of Aamir Khan who poked fun on Hindu Gods in his infamous movie PK and got away with hundreds of crores had the cheek to term this country as intolerant, again to cash in on the raging debate of intolerant India (read Hindus) and be a hero.
Another film Oh My God was also based on similar theme with a little difference but the fact is that everybody who wants to gain cheap publicity trains his guns towards Hindu Gods.
The latest one comes from a Bihari lawyer who recently filed a petition against Lord Ram for maltreating his wife Sita and seeking punishment for Lord Rama and Lord Lakshman.
One wonders what these dimwits want to gain from such gimmicks other than taking Hindus for granted and poking fun on their Gods just to be in the news headlines.
No tolerant brigade has raised a voice against such frivolous cases which at the most are useful for a film script and nothing else.
The Courts must also stop such practice of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus by every Tom Dick and Harry and punish such people whose frivolous cases are no use to the society but instead create bad blood and unrest.
No organization or individual will ever dare to file such cases against any other religion but Hindus, as it is this community which has been so intolerant as to allow debates and discussions on its religion even if illogical and abusive.
It is time the society rises above the political interests and denounces such acts in one voice to send a clear message that religious sentiments cannot be allowed to be hurt by publicity seeking individuals anymore. It is a matter of faith and not debate.
