Jammu, September 20: Yet another innocent life has been sniffed out by the barbarians in Kashmir adding one more life to the list of the killings shaking the conscience of the civilized society prompting barrage of questions asking how many innocent lives more are required to wake-up the administration to tighten the noose and shakeup the enemies of humanity to stop the killing machines.
While the story of Aylan Kurdi whose little innocent body was washed up to shores hit the headlines in the world shaking the conscience of the humanity around the globe the killing of three-year-old boy Burhan Bhat by unknown teenager gunmen has sent shivers down the spine of civilized people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The barbaric killing of Burhan who was wounded in the lap of his father Bashir Ahmed Bhat by the volley of bullets sprayed on him by bike born gunmen and succumbed to his injuries is a grim reminder that the so called war in Kashmir has brought nothing but destruction and barbarism to Kashmir.
This also reminds us of the barbaric killing of two innocent infant Kashmiri Pandit boys in 2003 Nadimarg massacre in Kashmir which was the first direct attack of Barbarians against humanity in Kashmir.
The question is where are we heading towards and how long will we allow this monster to sniff out innocent lives and inflict deathblows to the civilized society in the state.
The acts like that of the killing of Burhan, Nadimarg children or the Aylan Kurdi needs condemnation from one and all without any political or regional considerations but it also needs to be utilized to wake up the political class, separatists and the civil society from their deep slumber and instead of shedding crocodile tears come out and act to nip the evil in the bud.
The issue here is that of protecting humanity and acting before it is too late and gets out of control as the state government, security agencies and even the separatists who are crying hoarse against this killing must come out in open and decide how to stop these innocent killings if at all they are really hurt and not politicking on the infant blood.
While the separatists who know that such killings are handiwork of the directionless teenagers who have been silently hailed as heroes by the separatist elements must issue open directions in their own way against them and show that they are really interested in protecting the humanity.
On the other hand the security agencies and state government also needs to wake-up and pull their socks and bring the culprits to book before it is too late and the barbaric act is again termed as a handiwork of security agencies by the separatist elements.
The government must understand that such innocent killings won’t go down well among the electorate who wants the government to act tough and finish the gun from the society once for all.
This also refers to the gun of all hues whether in the hands of militants or the security agencies for which the civil society and the administration must work together and work with sincerity to achieve the peaceful atmosphere in the state where no more Burhans pay with their life for the follies of their parents or the society.
The situation is aptly described by the SSP Crime Mubasir Latifi whose facebook post sums it up in these words, “3 Year old Burhan Bashir shot dead in Sopore Kashmir. When the sons of Yaqoob Qasai, Amir Qasab and other butchers of Faisalabad and Gujranwala are rechristened as “Pakistaanuk Gazi” (Warriors from Pakistan) and asked to decide the fate of one of the most enlightened and emancipated community, these things are bound to happen. Their job is to sniff out life. Whether it is a lamb or a child, it doesn’t matter. No amount of condemnation is enough for this dastardly act. And no argument can justify this act- be it so called Jihad, unintentional act or a collateral damage. It is the worst form of terrorism”.
And to sum it up here let us wakeup now and kill this uncontrolled monster of terrorism once for all.
