Let’s pledge ourselves to peaceful society on this Eid!

Jammu, September 24: Eternal peace is the desire of every human being living on earth and to find that peace he spends his life time looking for the way to the eternal peace and ultimately embraces a particular religion to achieve the goal.

Similarly all the human beings in the world find one or the other religion according to their circumstances, birth or dynasty to follow it and move forward according to the tenets of that particular religion to find the ultimate peace which is also called Mokhsha among Hindus and Janat among Muslims where it is believed that every person would get the space according to his deeds.

However in this journey sometimes we forget our real purpose of following a particular religion and start using it according to our interests and comfort or political reasons thus negating everything that any religion preaches and utilize it to settle scores with people following other faiths.

What we forget is that every religion in this world preaches ultimate peace and tranquility through mutual brotherhood which means that there is no scope for any bad blood between the people of different faiths and all the faiths preach and propagate through peaceful methods.

Since all the religions are for ultimate or eternal peace and have holy books explaining the way to reach to the God, let’s find the commonality between all the religions and adopt all the positive things strictly according to the books so that this world becomes a peaceful place to live without any hatred or competition between any two religions.

Religion is a way to reach to eternal peace and if eternal peace is the ultimate God then why fight each other trying to force ones faith over other and give a bad name not only to the religion but also to the teachings of the holy books.

Be it Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, or any other religion in the world every holy book is dedicated to reach to the ultimate supreme soul that is God and no book teaches hatred or anything that can be objected by the other.

However it is we the human beings who because of any reason do not understand the teachings and get confused with words written anywhere in the holy books and instead of understanding deeply try to convince all others to accept whatsoever we have understood partially.

It is therefore imperative that we the human beings initiate a process where we can learn the teachings of all the religions and try to find answers of various questions arising in our mind off and on regarding our being. Let the mind be free to be satisfied at its own after studying various religions without any prejudice.

In modern times learning about other religions has become extremely easy as all the information is just a click away on your computer or even mobile and one can learn everything about every religion in this world.

This exercise can rid us of useless hatred against each other and we would start loving each other’s religion because once we go through other religions it would be clear that no religion preaches hatred, violence or disparity in the society and instead every religion stresses for peace, unity and mutual brotherhood.

It is therefore but natural that the circumstances that have been created in the state of Jammu and Kashmir by vested interests are fought tooth and nail and exposed by adopting the teachings of all the religions for peace and development of the society and burn our false desires and sacrifice our egos on this holy festival of Eid to get rid of the hatred against each other and try to live a peaceful and composite life where we respect every human being as no two human beings are alike and this unique existence is of utmost importance for understanding the place of every human being on this planet.

I wish a very happy Eid to all our readers.
