Jammu, August 17: The unnecessary controversy generated by the opposition parties over the customary visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to world’s third largest Mosque during his official visit to Abu Dabi has appalled the saner elements in the society who feel pity on the lowering standards of the politicians in India where even official visits of PM are not spared for political mileage least caring for the negative image about India that might be created in the rest of the world.
The irony is that instead of appreciating the successful visit of Modi to our neighboring country that holds key to billions of dollars worth investment what a dimwit section of Indian political class chose to debate was his visit to the Mosque as if Modi was in UAE to campaign for Bihar elections.
The so called intellectual type politicians in almost all the party’s did not comment on the outcome of the visit or whether UAE would actually translate the visit into huge investments but their concern was the irrelevant Mosque visit just like a section of intellectually bankrupt Indian electronic media that also has gone all out against the so called God Women Radhey Maa these days.
These days one wonders why so much negativity has caught our psyche, as the political class, the media and the social strata goes on debating endlessly all that is negative and hardly cares for highlighting the positive elements within an event.
As the negativity accumulates in our society it is translated into more negative activities in the country resulting in huge corruption, violence, rapes, arson and everything that is anti development while the developmental aspects get clouded in the chaos.
The debate at this point of time should have been how to project a united India before the world when our prime Minister is making all out efforts to woo the world towards India which has always been projected as a third world country by making the world leaders stand and listen to India.
Instead what our political class is doing is to maul the Prime Minister even when he is on the foreign soil to malign his image before the world powers thus doing a huge disservice to the nation.
There used to be a time when entire opposition would stand by the Prime Minister during his foreign visits or statements in order to project a united face before the world but now the things have changed only because it is Modi who is at the helm and nobody wants him to continue his image building exercise for India among the world leaders.
It is time the media too understands its duties and stops indulging in disinformation campaign by highlighting frivolous issues while the hard news is suppressed to suit their TRPs. Had media been responsible in India we would not have been bored to death to watch endless footage of people like Radhey Maa for days together as if the future of the nation depends on her make-up and dresses while the real issues regarding the common man hardly get highlighted.
Similarly it is the media that provides oxygen to these political buffoons who can stoop so low as to castigate their own Prime Minister for his visit to a Mosque on a foreign country.
The silver lining is that there is still some political class and section of media that is interested in positive and developmental issues to keep a balance at this crucial juncture when chaos is ruling everywhere.
