Deepawali: The day to celebrate best governance model of ‘Ram Rajya’

Jammu, November 10: Deepawali the festival of lights, the festival of victory of light over darkness, the festival of good over evil and the festival of the resolve of humankind to prevail upon the dark forces is also a day that should in fact be celebrated as the good governance day or the day to celebrate the best governance model given by India called ‘Ram Rajya’.

India was known as Jagat Guru and golden sparrow not only for its wealth and prosperity but its vast knowledge of universe and the way a person should live and behave in life which still baffles the thinkers of the world for such scientific accuracy that most of the models are still as relevant as they were thousands of years ago.

While Chankya Niti is the recent version of the political and economic setup, the Ram Rajya is considered as the ancient and best model of governance and perhaps that is why Hinduism is called as a way of life and not a religion by the people who follow it and also by the thinkers who have studied it well.

Lord Rama was the most intelligent and powerful but down to earth personality who inspired generation after generation to follow his model of governance where people are supreme and the king is compassionate without any arrogance who transmits positivity whereever he goes and whatever he does brings peace and prosperity to the subjects.

Since Lord Rama was all about positivity we have another lesson to learn how a positive person can defy the standard perceptions due to his positive thoughts which is evident from the fact that while Hindus hardly celebrate anything on dark Amavasya it is Lord Rama who converted the Amavasya into a biggest festivity in India negating everything related to darkness.

Why was Lord Rama brought to Ayodhya on dark Amavasya instead of any other day? The thinkers say that it was the resolve of the people to defy dark forces and light up the world to show the victory of light over darkness indicating that even a spark can remove darkness from around you.

Ram Rajya is still used as an example to tell the world how a government should be run and Mahatma Gandhi used to advocate Ram Rajya after Independence in India.

Lord Rama also stands for positivity which is evident from the fact that while Rama was the most powerful person he hardly knew it and never displayed any arrogance while Ravna who despite being well read always sought more power and in the process committed many wrongs ending in his death indicating the negativity has to go and positivity has to prevail in the universe.

Such thoughts are needed in the modern world where ‘Ram Rajya’ is the need of the hour particularly in India from where it originated if at all India wants to be a global leader or Jagat Guru once again.

Let’s celebrate this Diwali with such positive thoughts invoking Ram Rajya concept and work for the betterment of society without any prejudices.

Let’s be blessed by whosoever is up above handling the whole Universe.
